Building a “Beloved Community”: September 18th
Rev. T. C. Morrow and Georgette Brown will help us look at diversity and inclusion. How are we doing and how can we improve to be even more inclusive? Music will be provided by Rev. Kim Capps.
Keeping Our Temples in Tune: October 9th
Rev. Martina Efodzi will assist participants in assessing their self-care needs and heightening their body awareness. Some of the topics that will be covered include: the impact of stress on one’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health, the role exercise and creative expression can play in alleviating stress, and the importance of seeking professional help when self-care is not enough.
Healthy Eating: Overcoming Barriers to Change: November 13th
Karen Basinger, MS, CFCS, LDN, from Family Consumer Sciences, University of Maryland Extension (Howard County Office of Aging and Independence), will help us look at healthy eating. How can we adapt these ideas to our new diet? What has stopped us from changing our eating habits in the past? What do we think might stop us in the future? Identifying these barriers now—and having a plan to help us get past them – is her goal
