Emmanuel United Methodist Church serves as the host for Elizabeth House in Laurel, Maryland on the first Saturday of each month.
There are 2 shifts (1) you can serve from 4:15pm - 5:45pm by helping to prepare the dinner meal and lunches and perform other set up duties and (2) you can serve from 5:45pm - 8:00pm by serving the clients (carry-out) and cleaning up the house.
With changes to house procedures, generally for the early shift, 3-4 people are needed (and appreciated) for prep. The later shift can be handled by 2-3 people comfortable leading and closing up the house. Training can be provided (reach out to Patricia if training is needed).
Due to COVID-19, procedures have changed for Elizabeth House. Food is served to clients using carryout procedures.
**Currently, children middle school or older are welcome to assist during set-up; adults preferred during second shift serving clients.
