Climate in the Pulpit – on Sunday, Oct. 22 during T@E and afterwards in the Youth Room. We will have electric induction cooktop demonstration with a special treat and a conversation about the harms of gas and the benefits of electrification. We cannot take clean air for granted, and we already are breathing in a damaged climate caused by burning fossil fuels. Learn how to make a plan to switch to electric appliances when your old gas appliance dies and how the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) has made it easier to electrify our homes, save money, and help the U.S. meet our climate goals. We will also discuss why the energy efficiency EmPower program needs to be strengthened and how to support the local campaign to electrify Howard County by requiring all new buildings and major renovations use electric appliances.
